Product Features
Cellulose acetate is a biobased and biodegradable material. The cellulose acetate films exhibit excellent transparency, gloss, mechanical strength , anti-fogging and static dissipative properties. Currently the commercialized cellulose acetate films are limited and mainly are made by solvent casting processed. So far the cellulose acetate film products made by thermoplastic granules and melt extrusion processes is rarely found in the market.
CP films (CPF) are made by Hoylard’s in-house-made Celluplas
TM granules in conjunction with the general melt extrusion casting processes. CPF complies with the food contacting safety (EU No. 10/2011) and biodegradability (ISO14855-1) standards. Comparing with competitive solvent casting films, CPF shows comparable appearance and mechanical properties but superior in oxygen and water vapor barrier. Industrial production for melt casting CPF has been developed.
Product Specifications
The following table shows the comparison between the cellulose acetate films made by solvent and melt casting processes. Accordingly the melt casting film CPF is superior in elongation, surface tension and WVTR and the others criteria are comparable to the solvent casting counterpart.
